Joanna Sasson

I am the Community Development Direct Services Manager for JIAS (Jewish Immigrant Aid Services) Toronto. Previous to my 10 years (and counting) with JIAS Toronto, I worked as a Jewish educator at The Family Resource Centre, Schechter Schools, Ramah camps and synagogues.  I am also currently the president of the Toronto Partnership Minyan, which seeks greater spirituality and openness within the confines of halachah (Jewish law) through participatory prayer, study and other aspects of communal religious life. I have been involved with Limmud Toronto as both a presenter and a volunteer, most recently serving as logistics co-chair last year. I am thrilled to be co-chairing what promises to be the most Lively, Innovative, Momentous, Motivational, Unrivaled, Diverse festival of learning we have ever had in Toronto. You can reach me here.

I was born and raised in Toronto and have enjoyed living in other amazing cities like Jerusalem and London (UK). I completed my BA (Honours) at the University of Guelph and I am currently working towards a Certificate in Fundraising from George Brown College. Presently, I work at Beth Emeth Synagogue as the Financial Development Administrator. In my spare time, I love to travel, watch crime documentaries and keep up with latest pop-culture trends. Attending Hebrew schools and Jewish camps all my life and my commitment to Jewish life through my University years led me to Limmud Toronto as the next step in my Jewish journey.
